What is Shakti Club ?

The members of the Shakti Club will participate in a range of capacity-building activities, leadership training sessions, and advocacy workshops, among other initiatives, with an aim to equip them with the skills and confidence needed to address social challenges and foster a strong sense of camaraderie and sisterhood. Shakti clubs are designed to be an instrument for women's empowerment, encouraging members to take active roles in three domains: Raising Awareness, Promoting Sisterhood, Community building and Nation-Building. An Indira Fellow is expected to set up a Shakti Club in every village panchayat, urban basti and college/university campus, acting as the centre for Shakti Abhiyan.


Raising Awareness: Promoting and understanding the knowledge about services including education, healthcare, employment opportunities, rights and entitlements, government schemes, and more.
Community Building and Sisterhood: Help women in their communities to access and avail government schemes and actively engage in community-building and development related initiatives.
Nation Building: Work towards betterment and development of their respective village/basti/college campus
