What is Nari Nyay ?
Nari Nyay is an empowerment initiative by the Indian National Congress aimed at ensuring justice and equality for women across India, with an aim to bring gender parity, a series of impactful measures are introduced in the manifesto. Nari Nyay embodies the Congress party's commitment to promoting gender equality and its multi-faceted approach to empower women economically, socially, and legally. By addressing systemic hurdles and providing targeted support, this initiative strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society where every woman can realize her full potential.
Why ?
The Constitution of India removed gender inequalities among caste and gender, nontheless discrimination continues to be a widespread barrier to women's political participation. Equal representation in politics for women is essential for a vibrant and properly functioning democracy and achieving the nation’s sustainable development goals by 2030. However, data shows that women are still widely underrepresented at all levels of decision-making and that achieving gender parity in political life at the current rate in the highest positions of power, will not be reached for another 130 years.

Nari Nyay initiatives are measures to ensure women’s equal access and full empowerment in society and increase women’s capacity to participate with full potential in their role in families and communities.
MAHALAKSHMI YOJNA
Mahalakshmi recognises the pivotal role of women in every family. By providing financial support of Rs. 1 lakh per year to one woman from every impoverished family, this initiative not only uplifts women economically but also acknowledge their contribution to the household and society.
AADHI AABAADI, POORA HAQ
Aadhi Abaadi Poora haq, Addresses the gender disparity in employment opportunities, NARI NYAY advocates for 50% reservation for women in new central government jobs. By breaking traditional barriers, this initiative ensures women's equal participation in the workforce, promoting gender diversity and inclusivity.
SHAKTI KA SAMMAN
Shakti ka Samman Is an effort to honour the dedication and hard work of grassroots-level women workers, NARI NYAY pledges to double the salary contribution of the central government for ASHA, Anganwadi, and Mid-Day Meal workers. This not only enhances their financial security but also acknowledges their invaluable contribution to community health and welfare.
ADHIKAR MAITRI
Adhikar Maitris, safeguard women's legal rights at the grassroots level. NARI NYAY proposes the establishment of Adhikar Maitris in every village. These dedicated facilitators will ensure that women have access to legal recourse and assistance, empowering them to assert their rights and seek justice.
SAVITRI BAI PHULE HOSTELS
Savitribhai Phule Hostels Addresses the need for safe and supportive accommodation for working women, NARI NYAY commits to doubling the number of hostels available for them. These Savitribai Phule Hostels provide a conducive environment for women pursuing employment opportunities away from their homes, promoting their independence and ensuring safe living conditions.
